Graduated in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1978), Master's (1982) and Ph.D. (1989) in Geophysics also from the University of São Paulo. He worked for more than 40 years at the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research (INPE), retiring as Senior Researcher at the end of 2022. His research focuses on Geosciences, with emphasis in Electromagnetic Induction in the Earth, using magnetotelluric (MT) and GDS methods, and in Geomagnetism, with studies of geomagnetic variations at low latitudes.
