**Translation to English:**Márcio Seligmann-Silva is a full professor of Literary Theory at UNICAMP, exhibition curator, and CNPq researcher. He holds a degree in History from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1986), a master's degree in Letters (German Language and Literature) from the University of São Paulo (1991), a doctorate in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the Freie Universität Berlin (1996), and postdoctoral studies at the Zentrum Für Literaturforschung Berlin (2002) and Yale (2006). He is vice-president of the ICLA, International Comparative Literature Association/AILC, Association Internationale de Littérature Comparée. He is the author of books such as *Ler o Livro do Mundo. Walter Benjamin: romantismo e crítica poética* (Iluminuras/FAPESP, 1999, winner of the Mario de Andrade Literary Essay Award from the National Library in 2000), *Adorno* (PubliFolha, 2003), *O Local da Diferença. Adorno* (Editora Civilização Brasileira, 2009), *A virada testemunhal e decolonial do saber histórico* (Editora da UNICAMP, 2022), *Passagem para o outro como tarefa. Tradução, testemunho e pós-colonialidade* (Editora da UFRJ, 2022) and *Walter Benjamin e a guerra de imagens* (Perspectiva, 2023). He has also organized volumes such as *História, Memória, Literatura: o Testemunho na Era das Catástrofes* (UNICAMP, 2003). He has translated works by Walter Benjamin (*O conceito de crítica de arte no romantismo alemão*, Iluminuras, 1993), G.E. Lessing (*Laocoonte. Ou sobre as Fronteiras da Poesia e da Pintura*, Iluminuras, 1998, finalist for the Jabuti Award in the Translation category in 2000), Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe, Jean-Luc Nancy, J. Habermas, among others. He has published numerous essays in books and journals both in Brazil and abroad. He has been a visiting professor at universities in Brazil, Argentina, Germany, England, and Mexico. His main areas of research include: German Romanticism; theory and history of translation; decoloniality; testimony theory; memory of violence from Latin American dictatorships; socio-environmental violence and its testimonies; forced displacements, diasporas, and their narratives; literature and other arts; and the works of Walter Benjamin.
