Graduated in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Sanaa, Yemen (1992), earned a Masters degree in Medical Microbiology from the University of Liverpool (1998), and a PhD in Infectious Diseases from the Federal University of São Paulo (2004), followed by postdoctoral training in Infectious Diseases at the Federal University of São Paulo (2010) and in Allergy and Immunology at the University of São Paulo (2011). Currently, he is an accredited advisor in the Graduate Program in Translational Medicine at the Federal University of São Paulo and in the Graduate Program of the Department of Dermatology at the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, as well as a researcher at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, University of São Paulo. He leads projects funded by FAPESP and serves as a reviewer for several international journals. His research areas include molecular tumor biology, molecular epidemiology, viral genetic diversity, oncoviruses, microbiome studies, and small RNA investigations (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
