Professor, actress, performing arts director, postdoc by the FEUSP, with the research Essay, Ignorance, unwork: a practice in the space between the class and the scene, developed under a FAPESP grant from 2013 to 2016. In 2014, the postdoctoral research takes place at Madrids Universidad Complutense, supervised by professor Fernando Bárcena, with the research Incendies (Scorched) and Fernand Deligny: errant landscapes between the class and the scene, under a BEPE-FAPESP grant. In Madrid, from September to December 2014, Juliana oversees the action Scorched: let make (read and say) a text, staged in an essaylike manner, in which artists and researchers from educational and artistic fields take part. She participates in the research Constella(c)tios as scene developer, in a partnership with composer Michelle Agnes Magalhaes part of her research as an intern S+T+Arts, Ircam/Pompidou -, who writes the text and directs the performance as scene mediator, for the February 2020 performances at Ircam/Pompidou and Centquatre Paris. Juliana holds MA (2001) and PhD (2009) in Theater by the ECA-USP, with research on the actor and comicity and the relations among text, listening, and the work of the actor. The artistic group she coordinates in São Paulo is awarded in the Municipal Program for Theater Support of the city of São Paulo, from July 2016 to January 2018 with the project Ignorant Essays: the ordinary and the essayist gesture between scene and the audience. PhD in Theater from ECA-USP with the research Remains of what is said from a listening (rest and drifting in the word), supervised by Prof. Silvia Fernandes, PhD. Juliana conceives and has directed, since 2010, the project Ignorant Essays, which moves between the areas of theater and educational philosophy, in a dialogue with Joseph Jacotot, Jacques Rancière, Michel de Montaigne, Agnès Varda, among others. She has been to West Africa (Mali and Burkina Faso) twice, invited by griot, actor and director Sotigui Kouyaté (Peter Brooks partner for 23 years), and joins his internship Jeu d'Acteur, Directon d"Acteur et de Mis en scène, for African actors from six countries. Professor, from 2004 to 2012, of Performing Arts undergraduate and graduate studies at the São Judas Tadeu University. Collaborating professor for the theater courses at USP (2006, 2008, 2011), Unicamp (2011) and teaching artist at SP Theater School (2011/12).
