Celso Dal Ré Carneiro has the degrees of geologist (1972), master (1977) and doctor (1984) by the Institute of Geosciences of the University of São Paulo, in the Area of General Geology and Application, with emphasis in Structural Geology and Tectonics. The main phases of professional and research careers are as follows: 1973-1978: professor with the Institute of Geosciences of the University of São Paulo; 1978-1995: Research Geologist of the Institute of Technological Research (IPT). Between 1989 and 1992 Carneiro was Coordinator of the Division of Geology and Mineral Resouces (DGRM) of IPT. Since 1986 Carneiro is Professor of the Institute of Geosciences of the University of Campinas (Unicamp). He is Associate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (1995); received the Silver Hammer (1982) and Henry Gorceix (2008) Gold Medal from the Brazilian Society of Geology. Carneiro is Honorary Member of the National Forum of Geology Courses (2012); he received from the Rectory of Unicamp the Zeferino Vaz Academic Recognition Award for Teaching, Research and Extension activities (2012) and Award for Recognition for Teaching and Dedication to Undergraduate Education (2013). At the Institute of Technological Research (IPT) he was Coordinator of the Division of Geology and Mineral Resources of the IPT (1989-1992). Carneiro was President of the National Forum of Undergraduate Geology Courses (2003-2005). From 1986 until 2010, he was Professor of the Institute of Geosciences at Unicamp. In April 2010 he became Associate Professor and, from 2014, Associate Professor II. He has taught courses in Earth System Science, Introductory Geology, Structural Geology and Geological Design, having been the coordinator (2013-2017) of the Graduate Program in Teaching and History of Earth Sciences of Unicamp. After retirement in April 2017, he continues to act as a collaborating professor at IG-Unicamp, supervising doctoral and masters students and teaching graduate disciplines in the areas of Geology, Teaching Methodology and Communication in Geosciences. Carneiro is the Editor-in-Chief of Terrae Didatica, since 2004, an electronic journal of the Geosciences Institute of Unicamp. Formerly Associated Editor (1981-1983) and Editor-in-Chief (1983-1989) of the Revista Brasileira de Geociências and Regional Editor (1981-1983) of Ciências da Terra, publications of the Brazilian Society of Geology. His experience is in Geosciences, focusing on Geosciences Teaching, Structural Geology, Geomorphology, and Geology Teaching. Research interests: The research focuses on the areas of Education of Earth Sciences, Publishing, Science Communication, Regional Geology, Structural Geology and Applied Geosciences.
