Civil Engineer by the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo in 1984, Master in Economics by University of New England (Australia, 1989), PhD in Transportation Engineering by the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo in 1993, Post-Doctorate at the Christian-Albrechts Universität zu Kiel (Germany, 1994) and at the University of Illinois, in Urbana-Champaign (United States, 2017). Currently, he is a Retired Full Professor at the Department of Economics, Administration and Sociology of the College of Agriculture "Luiz de Queiroz" (ESALQ) of the University of São Paulo and Emeritus Coordinator of the Research and Extension Group in Agroindustrial Logistics (ESALQ-LOG). He was the Dean of ESALQ from 2011 to 2014. His area of expertise - in terms of teaching, research and extension - is focused on themes and analytical instruments related to Agroindustrial Logistics, with emphasis on the following themes: transportation, storage, operations research (linear and integer programming). In 2016, he received the 61st Bunge Foundation Award - Life and Work, Transportation Infrastructure Category. Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the University of Illinois, in Urbana-Champaign in 2023. Visiting Professor at China Agricultural University (CAU), in Beijing, during the end of the years 2023 and 2024. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
