Birthplace: Brazil

Professor / Researcher at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP) / School of Mining, working in Fluid Mechanics, Flow Machines and Hydraulic Systems and Renewable Energies. Research Fellow of the Institutional Capacity Building Program at LACG / LCP / INPE. Has postdoctoral degree in the area of energy valorization of glycerol, by-product of biodiesel, in LACG / LCP / INPE. Postdoctoral studies in Flameless Combustion (IST / UTL / Lisboa, Portugal) and has participated in projects in cooperation between Brazil and Portugal in the areas of "Flameless Combustion" and in the burning of crude glycerol. Responsible to CNPq for the project titled "Energetic Enhancement of Glycerol Through Its Combustion for Carbon Reduction and Capture". Has a doctorate from UNESP / Guaratinguetá Campus in Mechanical Engineering / Transmission and Energy Conversion / Combustion, master's degree in Engineering and Technology. Served as substitute professor of the "Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics" in the undergraduate courses (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering has been involved in the development and application of new forms for energy generation, aiming at reducing emissions of pollutants (mainly CO2, CO, UHC and NOx), in energy optimization and improving the efficiency of the burning process. Specialized in the following technologies: pulsed combustion, flameless combustion, oxy-fuel combustion, as well as the use and valorization of alternative fuels, such as the burning of crude glycerol (by-product of biodiesel) and pyrolytic oil of tires, among other fuels. Experience includes development of burners, various applications for natural gas, experience with turbulent diffusive flames, as well as the use of non-intrusive optical measurement techniques such as flame tomography (detection of the distribution of radicals in the flame region), spectroscopy by emission spectrometry with a Cassegrain type optical system (measurement of the spectrum of chemiluminescent radicals to identify the local equivalence ratio and temperature in the reaction zone), LDA - Laser Doppler Anemometry (determination of the velocity profile in the flame region), diffraction system a laser for measuring the distribution and size of spray droplets and equipment for the characterization of chemical substances, such as calorimeter, DSC / TGA and CHNS / O analyzer. Worked on a thematic project in the analysis of biomass combustion data from tropical forests, specifically, of burning in the Amazon forest, analyzing their respective environmental impact.
