Architect (2006), Master (2009), and Doctor (2015) in Design and Architecture, Gustavo Curcio has over 20 years of experience in the editorial field, visual programming, art direction, photography direction, and editorial and advertising management. He conducts research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism and the Faculty of Design at the University of São Paulo, focusing on Visual Design and Project Development, Interior Design, and Signage Design. He holds a postdoctoral degree in Design and Architecture from FAUUSP. Professor and researcher in the Department of Design at FAUUSP, he has served as graphic designer, art editor, photography editor, art director, and editorial director at Editora Abril, RMC Editora (branded content), Magu Comunicação Integrada, and Content XP Comunicação. He developed the graphic and editorial designs for the Diário de São Paulo newspaper (2011), the Government of the State of São Paulo Yearbook (2010), and the magazines AnaMaria and Minha Casa (20042010), as well as projects for Avon Cosmetics, Scania Latin America, SAAB, and Toyota. He also designed packaging projects for Fischer Brasil (a German multinational company). Gustavo Curcio has served as editorial director and currently chairs the editorial boards of Arquitetura e Urbanismo (ISSN 0102-8979) and Téchne (ISSN 0104-1053) magazines. He also heads the scientific board of ArqXP | Experiências Inovadoras em Construção. He is President of the National and International Cooperation Commission (CCNInt) at FAUUSP and Vice-Coordinator of the LabImagem (Image Laboratory) of the LabIndus (Industrialisation Laboratory), both at FAUUSP. Additionally, he is a member of the GENN (New Narratives Study Group) at ECAUSP and a member of the Editorial Team of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI). He served as Vice-President of the FAUUSP Undergraduate Committee (CG) between 2022 and 2023. He coordinates FAUUSP's academic agreements with the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) Faculté dArchitecture la Cambre Horta (Belgium); École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre (Belgium); École Nationale Supérieure dArchitecture Montpellier (France); École Spéciale dArchitecture (France); Universidad Tecnológica Indoamérica Facultad de Arquitectura y Construcción (Ecuador); Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts (Poland); Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania); and the University of Leeds (ULeeds) School of Design (England).
