Milena Mateuzi Carmo

Graduated in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2005), with a master's degree (2016) and doctorate (2022) in Social Anthropology from the same university. She worked as Coordinator of Youth Policies at the Secretariat for Citizen Participation in the Municipality of Embu das Artes (2011-2012) and in civil society organizations linked to Education and Human Rights, such as Ação Educativa (2006-2009), Human Rights Center and Popular Education of Campo Limpo - CDHEP (2012-2016), Pastoral Carcerária (2019), among others. She has experience with teaching and research in the area of Social Sciences on topics related to Anthropology, Peripheries, Social Markers of Difference, Violence and Social Movements, with publications in national and international journals. She was field coordinator of the research Social Mobility, Poverty Reduction, and Democracy in an Emerging Middle Class National Science Foundation-NSF / Portland State University, funded by NSF / USA and articulated in an International Cooperation Agreement with FFLCH / USP (2016- 2020). She is a collaborating researcher in the Postgraduate Program in Human and Social Sciences (PPGCHS) at the Federal University of ABC (since 2023) with a postdoctoral scholarship from Fapesp. She served as a visiting professor in the Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology FFLCH-USP (2023). She participated in the university extension project The Covid-19 pandemic from an intersectional perspective in peripheral territories dialogues between Brazil and South Africa financed by the Dean of Culture and University Extension at USP (2021-2022), where she directed the podcast Ecos Pandéticos .
