Marcos de Sales Guerra Tsuzuki

Graduated from Escola Politécnica from USP (1985), Masters in Information Processing Engineering from Yokohama National University (1989), PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Escola Politécnica from USP (1995) and Full Professor at Escola Politécnica from USP (2000). He is currently Associate Professor III at the Polytechnic School of USP. I am a member of the Qualitative Analysis Committee of the Engineering Area III at CAPES. I was the coordinator of subcommittee 5 responsible for the evaluation of Technologies. I worked in the Postgraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering at EPUSP in several ways: I was coordinator from 2016 to 2020, I was chairman of committees (program committee, administration and finance committee, examination and admission committee). I worked in the Undergraduate Mechatronics Engineering course at EPUSP in several ways: coordinator of the pre-master's course, coordination of disciplines (PMR3402 - Embedded Systems, PMR3412 - Industrial Networks, PMR3304 - Information Systems, PMR2520 - Introduction to CAD/CAM, PMC497 - Computer Aided Design Laboratory, PMC490 - Computer Aided Design and PMC394 - Computer Laboratory II) and professor of several disciplines. As a research group coordinator I managed several RD projects, where I act as project coordinator: ANEEL CESP PD-0061-0033/2011 "Development of Computational Techniques for the Evaluation of Components in Hydrogenerator Operation"; ANP Petrobras 2013/00179-0 "Advanced ultrasound tools for monitoring corrosion in the oil industry"; ANP Shell RCGI 35 "Detection of leaking CH4 and CO2 gases in the sea fund using ultrasound images with multiple elements"; ANP Petrobras 2017/00596-1 "Application of ultrasound in primary oil processing"; ANP Petrobras 2017/00608-0 "Infrastructure for the Application of Ultrasound in Primary Oil Processing"; ANP Petrobras 2019/00458-3 "Cleaning of PCHE-Type Heat Exchangers by Ultrasound". I coordinated nine individual grants through FAPESP (processes 1996/07311-4, 1998/11310-9, 1999/12447-0, 2008/11132-7, 2009/07173-2, 2010/18913-4, 2010/19685-5, 2013/26532-9 and 2017/07799-5), three Universal projects by CNPq (processes 471119/2010-5, 456180/2014-1 and 433.1515/2018-8) and two projects by Amigos da POLI (VENT19 - pulmonary ventilator) ). I coordinated two international cooperation projects by CAPES/JSPS (902/2012 and 1269/2014), the Japanese coordinator in both projects was Prof. Dr. Toshiyuki Gotoh of Yokohama National University. These projects also involved the Kanagawa Cardiovascular and Respiratory Center. I was the scientific coordinator of the Research Support Center (NAP) Monitoring in ICU Environment through EIT and ultrasound, from January 2016 to September 2021. I was the vice scientific coordinator from January 2014 to December 2015. Currently, I have been the vice scientific coordinator since October 2021. This NAP brings together a network of researchers: EPUSP, Colorado State University, University of Auckland, Yokohama National University, UFABC and FMUSP. I am also the Vice-Coordinator of the Applied Geophysics, Mechatronics and Engineering Multiuser Center (GAME), uniting several institutions with intersecting actions: EPUSP, Oceanographic Institute of USP and Institute of Geosciences of USP. I was the coordinator of the IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control) Technical Committee on Manufacturing Plant Control, TC 5.1 (the TC is a network of researchers with 80 members from 30 countries) for a term from 2014 to 2017. chair of the IFAC Technical Committee on Biological and Medical Systems, TC 8.2 (the TC is a network of researchers with 156 members from 34 countries) for three terms (since 2014). I was recently elevated to a senior member by the IEEE. I was guest editor of 8 international journals from Elsevier, Springer, Taylor Francis and MDPI. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
