Mauro Batista de Morais concluded at the Escola Paulista de Medicina - Federal University of São Paulo: Medical Graduation (1977), Medical Residence in Pediatrics (1979), Masters in Pediatrics (1984), Doctorate in Medicine (1985) and "Livre-docência" in Pediatric Gastroenterology (1999). He is Professor of the Department of Pediatrics since 1984, initially of the Discipline of Clinical Pediatrics and since 1987 in the Discipline of Pediatric Gastroenterology. Post-Doctorate, with a grant from CNPq, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas (1993/1994). In the area of #8203;#8203;extension, intense activity in the area of #8203;#8203;Medical Residency, being president of the Medical Residency Committee of UNIFESP for six years (1987-1988 and 1997-2001). He was Coordinator of the Post-Graduate Program in Pediatrics and Applied Sciences in Pediatrics (Master's and Doctorate) from 2003 to 2008 and the Graduate Program in Nutrition (Master's and Doctorate) from 2011 to 2016, both from UNIFESP. At present, he continues as a supervisor of these two graduate programs. He was head of the Department of Pediatrics in the period 2009 to 2015. The main area of #8203;#8203;activity is Pediatric Gastroenterology, head of the Discipline of Pediatric Gastroenterology of UNIFESP in the period between 1997 and 2004 and between 2007 and 2009 and 2015 to date . Member of the Editorial Board of the Gastroenterology Archives. Member of the Executive Editorial Board of Jornal de Pediatria from 2011 to 2014. He is currently President of the Department of Gastroenterology of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics. Areas of greatest interest: intestinal motility disorders, dietary fiber, prebiotics, intestinal microbiota probiotics, intestinal iron absorption and iron deficiency, food allergy and nutritional repercussions and in the growth of diseases of the digestive tract.
