Professor of the Institute of Biology and Associate Director of the Center for Meteorological Research Applied to Agriculture, State University of Campinas - Cepagri / Unicamp. Graduated in agronomy from ESALQ / USP, MSA from USP, Ph.D. in Agronomy from UNESP and post-doctorate at the University of Guelph, Canada where served also as visiting professor in agrometeorology. Former Deputy Chief of the Section of Agricultural Climatology of the Agronomy Institute of Campinas, Deputy Under Secretary of Agriculture S. Paul, the Ministry of Agriculture and Supply, the Financier of Studies and Projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Coordinated and co-ordinates, 23 research projects with funding in the areas of agroclimatology with emphasis on zoning and risks of climate change on agriculture. Has published more than 70 scientific articles in professional journals, 95 full papers in conference proceedings, 20 book chapters and three books together. Received two awards for scientific merit. Invited as a speaker in 141 scientific meetings in Brazil and abroad. Organized seven national and international scientific events. Advicer of 10 master's students, 12 doctoral and 5 postdoctoral.
