Patricia Rodrigues Samora

I am a Full Professor, lecturer, and researcher at the School of Architecture, Arts and Design at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas), Brazil. Since February 2024, I have served as Editor-in-Chief of Óculum Ensaios journal. In October 2024, I began coordinating the research group Territorial Policies and Water in Urban Areas, linked to the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism at PUC-Campinas, where I was also a member of the programs academic council from 2020 to 2024. I hold a postdoctoral degree (2014) and a Ph.D. (2010) from the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAUUSP), where I also completed my undergraduate studies (2001). During my degree, I participated in an academic exchange at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), in Portugal, from 1997 to 1998.In 2010, I was awarded first place in the Premio Iberoamericano de Tesis de Investigación sobre Viviendas Sustentables InfonavitRedalyc (Mexico) for my doctoral dissertation Housing Design to Slums: Specificities and Quality Parameters. I am a founding member of the Aicó Educational Association (2012), which maintains the Escola Livre Areté (São Paulo/SP), where I served as vice-president (20122020) and president (20212023). I also hold a specialization in urban and land tenure regularization of informal settlements from the Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) at Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands).My research interests include social housing policy and design; slum upgrading; planning, design, and development of urban peripheries; urban infrastructure; urban water systems; socio-environmental risk; gender-sensitive urban policies and policies addressing specific social groups. https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2105-8557 (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
