Guilherme comes from Poços de Caldas - Minas Gerais. He graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo in 2008. He completed a medical residency in General Surgery at the Hospital das Clínicas de São Paulo HCFMUSP (2009-2011), followed by a medical residency in Coloproctology at the Hospital das Clínicas de São Paulo HCFMUSP (2011-2013). After finishing his specialization in Brazil, he moved to England where he worked as Clinical Fellow in Laparoscopic Surgery at Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust - Colchester - England (2013-2014). Back in Brazil in 2014, he began his clinical practice at the Instituto Angelita e Joaquim Gama, initially as a Clinical Fellow in Coloproctology (2014 - 2015), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Angelita Habr-Gama and Dr. Rodrigo O. Perez. In 2017, he underwent training in extended lymphadenectomies for rectal and colon cancer in Tokyo - Japan (2017). Currently dedicated to the care of patients with colorectal diseases, particularly those with colon and rectal neoplasms. He works at Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz and Hospital Beneficência Portuguesa in São Paulo. He is the author of several scientific publications in the area of #8203;#8203;Colorectal Oncology, with an emphasis on Rectal Cancer. He works as a reviewer for several international journals, as well as associate editor of Techiniques in Coloproctology. He is currently a member of the research ethics committee at Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
