Birthplace: Brazil

I have a Bachelors degree in Oceanography from the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo - IOUSP (2006), MSc. in Chemical and Geological Oceanography from IOUSP (2009) and a DSc. in Oceanography from IOUSP in Geological Oceanography (2013), with an internship abroad at the University of Aveiro, Portugal (2010) and Bremen University, Germany (2011). I participated in the IODP Expedition 349 - South China Sea Tectonics as a specialist in biostratigraphy (2014) and held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Physical, Chemical and Geological Oceanography at IOUSP (2013-2015) and at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University, United States (2014-2015). I was a visiting professor at Coastal Carolina University, United States (08/2022-02/2023). Between 02/2015 and 07/2023 I was a professor at the Federal University of Paraná - UFPR within the undergraduate course in Oceanography and a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Coastal and Oceanic Systems (2015-current), of which I was vice-coordinator (2016-2018) and coordinator (2018-2020; 2022-07/2023), and permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Geology at UFPR (2019-2024), and President of the Sectoral Research Committee (2019-2022). Since 2023 I hold the position of professor at the Department of Physical, Chemical and Geological Oceanography at IOUSP, where I am President of the Inclusion and Belonging Commission (2024-current), vice-president of the Culture and Extension Commission and permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Oceanography at USP. I have supervised 12 master's students (2 co-supervisions), 2 doctoral students (1 co-supervision) and 1 postdoctoral student; and has 3 master's, 5 doctoral and 2 postdoctoral advisors in progress. My h-index and citations (January 2025) are: 15/1240 (ISI); 15 / 1428 (Scopus); 18/2034 (Google Scholar). He serves as a member of the editorial board of the journal PLOS Climate and Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology. My research focus is the area of Oceanography, with an emphasis on Paleoceanography, working mainly on the application and integration of multi-proxies in marine sedimentary records for the reconstruction of oceanographic processes and in the understanding of ocean-atmosphere interactions in the past.
