Is an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Letters of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (FALE/UFMG). In 2016 and 2017, he worked at the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony (Unilab). He completed his postdoctoral studies at the State University of Campinas, with an internship at the University of Quebec in Montreal (Canada) and at the University of Cologne (Germany). He holds a PhD in linguistics from the State University of Campinas, with an internship at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), a master's degree in linguistics and a bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of Brasília. He works in the Postgraduate Program in Linguistics (Poslin/FALE/UFMG). He has experience in the areas of corpus linguistics and historical linguistics, with an emphasis on diachronic morphosyntax of Portuguese. He also works in the description and analysis of Romance languages, with an emphasis on issues of morphology and the interface between syntax, informational structure and rhetorical structure. He is also interested in West African languages, linguistic contacts in Brazil and linguistic variation in communities of practice, with emphasis on the following keywords: classical Portuguese, colonial Brazilian Portuguese, clitics, complex predicates, infinitives, topic-marked constructions, focalization, constructions of the family of clefts and nominal classes.
