Bachelors degree in Food Engineering from the School of Animal Science and Food Engineering at the University of São Paulo (FZEA-USP), completed in 2015. Masters (2017) and Ph.D. (2021) in Food Engineering Sciences from the same institution. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in an academic exchange (sandwich program) through the CAPES/BRAFAGRI Project at the Institut National Supérieur des Sciences Agronomiques, de l'Alimentation et de l'Environnement (AgroSup Dijon, Dijon, France) from 2012 to 2013. As part of his Ph.D., he was awarded a Research Internship Abroad Fellowship (BEPE/FAPESP) and developed a collaborative project with the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Salerno (UNISA, Fisciano, Italy) from 2019 to 2020. In 2022, he received an Honorable Mention in the CAPES Thesis Award in the field of Agricultural Sciences. He has experience in microencapsulation and nanoencapsulation of bioactive compounds, particularly in lipid-based carrier systems such as liposomes and solid lipid particles, with a focus on applications in food products for the nutritional enrichment of food matrices. He is also skilled in unit operations such as wet agglomeration and freeze-drying. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Veterinary Medicine (ZMV) at FZEA-USP, working on an interdisciplinary project in the field of Animal Reproduction. His research focuses on the nanoencapsulation of bioactive molecules, such as miRNAs, in liposomes and their delivery to various cell types. Email: matheus.chaves@usp.br (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
