Renan de Almeida Sargiani

President of the Institute for Evidence-Based Education (Edube) and coordinator of the Specialization in Evidence-Based Literacy at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo.Board member of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP). He is also a member of the National Network for Science in Education (Rede CpE), the Working Group on Sociocognitive and Language Development of ANPEPP, and the European Literacy Network.He was a Professor of Educational Psychology at the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo (FE-USP) and an Assistant Professor I in the Psychology program at Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul, where he also coordinated the Laboratory for Studies on Cognition, Language, and Literacy (Laboratório Escola). He served as General Coordinator of Cognitive and Linguistic Neuroscience at the Secretariat of Literacy of the Ministry of Education (MEC) and as the Scientific Chair of the National Panel of Experts on Literacy, Literacy Development, and Numeracy of MEC. He was also a member of the Psychology Coalition at the United Nations and an educational consultant for UNESCO and the governments of the State of São Paulo and the Municipality of Manaus.He holds a Ph.D. in School and Developmental Psychology from the Institute of Psychology at USP (2016), with a doctoral research internship at the Graduate Center of The City University of New York (2014-2015). He completed three postdoctoral fellowships: in Learning, Development, and Personality Psychology at IP-USP (2016-2019), in Education (Language and Literacy) at Harvard Graduate School of Education (2018-2022), and in Educational Psychology at PUC-SP (2019-2022). He also holds a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from PUC-SP (2013), a specialization in Neuroscience Applied to Education and Learning from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (2022), and an MBA in School Management from USP (2022). He earned his degree as a Psychologist (2011) and a Bachelors degree in Psychology (2010) from Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul.He serves as a reviewer for national and international scientific journals and is the author of several articles and book chapters. His expertise spans the fields of Psychology, Education, Linguistics, and Cognitive Neuroscience, with a focus on Cognitive Psychology, Educational Psychology, and Developmental Psychology. His primary research and professional interests include Literacy and Reading Development, Language and Cognitive Development, Early Childhood Education, Curricula, Educational Materials and Teaching Practices, Psychological Assessment, Evidence-Based Education, and Educational Policies.
