PhD in Geological Sciences and Geotechnologies and Associate Professor at the Institute of Geosciences and Exact Sciences of the São Paulo State University (UNESP). Research interests are paleomagnetism, magnetism of rocks, and their application to geological problems. Current research includes Plio-Pleistocene stratigraphy, dating of paleontological and archaeological sites, magnetostratigraphy of Permian-Triassic in the Paraná Basin, and of the Cretaceous in the Santos and in the Brazilian Northeast basins. Fieldworks in South America (Brazil, Argentina), Europe (Italy, France, Germany, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria), Asia (Jordan, Israel, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan) and the Indian Ocean (IODP 355 expedition). Manager of the UNESP Laboratory of Paleomagnetism (UNESPmag), Associate Editor of Quaternary International, and Alpine and Mediterranean Quaternary journals, reviewer for funding agencies (CNPq, FAPESP, Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung) and international journals in the field of geophysics and geology.
