Birthplace: Colômbia

Assistant Professor at the Institute of Geoscienceis at the University of Sao Paulo (IGc-USP) and Lecturer in the Geochemistry and Geotectonics Graduate Program at the IGc-USP and the Energy Graduate Program at the Institute of Earth and Environment of the same university (IEE-USP. I hold a BSc degree (2000) from the National University of Colombia-Bogotá and a PhD in Geociences (2009) from the University of Potsdam (Germany). Between 2009 and 2010 I was Postdoctoral Fellow at the Jackson School of Geociences, University of Texas at Austin (USA) and between 2010 and 2014, Research Scientist and Consultant at the Colombian Institute for Petroleum (ICP-Ecopetrol). I am Young Researcher Fellow from the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) for installing and managing a Low-Temperature Thermocrhonology laboratory and research group at the IGc-USP. My research interests are on surface processes that occur along active orogens and the evolution of their associated sedimentary basins, including the study of their mineral resources. His work includes a strong component of field-based observations and laboratory analysis devoted to track the age and rates of rock subsidence, uplift and exhumation, mainly through the reconstruction of the thermal history of rocks.
