Ivan Sicca Gonçalves is a Ph.D. Candidate in History at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil. He holds a bachelors (2017) and a masters degree (2021) in History from the same institution. During an internship from 2024 to 2025, he was also a Visiting Fellow on Instituto de Ciências Sociais (ICS) of the University of Lisbon. Working in the field of social history, he studied the Portuguese legislation that regulated African forced labor in the colonies, the long-distance trade in Central Africa, and the Portuguese sertanejo caravans of Angolan Central Highlands. His masters dissertation was awarded the 4 th prize of the Associação Brasileira de História Econômica - ABPHE (Brazilian Association of Economic History) in 2022. During his masters, he was also a Visiting Researcher at the Centro de História of the University of Lisbons School of Arts and Humanities (Faculdade de Letras). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
