.He is an associate professor in the Department of Physiology at the São Paulo campus of the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). Among the activities underway at the institution, the following stand out: a) master's/doctorate advisor and postdoctoral supervisor in the Postgraduate Program in Translational Medicine and in the Postgraduate Program in Pulmonology; b) coordinator of the Exercise Physiology Laboratory of the Exercise Physiology Sector (SEFE, www.sefeunifesp.com) located at the Olympic Training and Research Center (COTP) of the City of São Paulo; c) coordinator of the specialization course in Exercise Physiology Applied to Health Promotion and Sports; d) collaborating researcher at the Pulmonary Function and Clinical Exercise Physiology Sector (SEFICE, https://sp.unifesp.br/epm/medicina/pneumologia/menu-setores/sefice) of the Pulmonology discipline, e) coordination of an agreement between Unifesp and the Sports Department of the City of São Paulo, where around 1000 athletes from the Olympic Training and Research Center (COTP) are regularly served, as well as research and teaching activities at undergraduate, lato sensu and postgraduate levels. -stricto sensu graduation. Between 2018 and 2020 he served as research coordinator at the Pro-Rector of Research and Postgraduate Studies at UNIFESP. His line of research is focused on integrative human physiology, with an emphasis on neural control of the cardiorespiratory system during physical exercise. This line of research has continually received financial support from funding agencies (FAPESP, CNPq and CAPES), has been awarded awards from the American Physiological Society and the Brazilian Society of Physiology, and has the collaboration of researchers from Brazil, Canada, England , New Zealand and the United States. Due to the international recognition of his work, he served as Associate Editor of the journal Frontiers in Physiology and is frequently invited to act as a reviewer for several internationally prestigious scientific journals.
