Alessandra Fernandes Montagner

Researcher, educator and artist. I currently work as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Performing Arts at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, teaching Theatre and Performance Theory. Doctor of Performing Arts (2018) from the PPGADC/IA at Unicamp, with a research internship at the Department of Drama, Theatre and Performance at the University of Roehampton (UK) the research was funded by the partnership FAPESP/CAPES. I hold an MA (Dance Theatre: The Body in Performance) from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance/City University of London (2012) and a BA in Performing Arts Theatre Directing (2006) and Acting (2005) from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. I undertook post-doctoral research (2022) at the School of Communications and Arts (ECA) at the University of São Paulo (USP), and have also previously taught in the Technical Course in Theatre at ETEC School of Arts, at Centro Paula Souza (2023-2024), and acted as a Collaborating Lecture in the Undergraduate Course in Performing Arts at ECA/USP (2020-2022) and as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Bachelor's of Performing Arts at CAL/UFSM (2009). I am one of the editors of Revista Sala Preta and also a member of Laboratório de Práticas Performativas (research group registered on CNPq), cuurently affiliated with the research line on Feminist Performative Practices: Thought, creations and translations, both at ECA/USP. My research explores the intersections between performance and theatre, focusing on contemporary phenomena. My teaching covers areas sucha as: Theatre and Performance Histories, Theatre and Performance Making and Devising, and Writing on/as Performance. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
