He received his Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas in 2015, and completed his Master's (2018) and Ph.D. (2021) in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the same institution. From 2021 to 2025, he worked as a Research Scientist at the Joint Genome Institute (JGI), United States, where he investigated the genomics of bacteria and their mobile genetic elements in natural ecosystems. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of São Paulo. His research focuses on the development of bioinformatics methods and the analysis of large-scale metagenomic data to elucidate the diversity, evolution, and host interactions of bacteriophages and plasmids.
