Paulo Roberto Gabbai Armelin

Currently, Paulo is Medical student at UNIARA/SP. He worked as Professor on the subject 'English Communication Skills' in the PGP Ciências Odontológicas, besides being a researcher at São Paulo State University (UNESP)/Dentistry - Araraquara. Paulo's research focuses on the following areas: Cytology, Histology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology. He was also Professor at Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)/ Baixada Santista, acting as didactic support in the subjects Cytology and Histology, and Methods in Biotechnology. Dr. Paulo has around 25 scientific papers published in international journals, several congress presentations and lectures (including international ones), and more than 1000 citations in different data bases. He also supervises undergraduate and post-graduate researchers. During his FAPEPS post-doc, he worked as research fellow at 3Bs Research Group/ Portugal on Cell culture and Biotechnology, He has a PhD, with a sandwich period, in Biotechnology (PGPBiotec), developing biomedical projects at Dep. of Physiotherapy, Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar). The PhD sandwich project was developed in the Dep. of Biomaterials at the UMC Radboud University, The Netherlands. The master degree was also obtained at PGPBiotec/UFSCar in Biochemistry and Bioinformatics, acting as tutor in Cell Biology and Biochemistry. Graduated in Biological Sciences at UNESP/Bauru. The CNPq granted him the Scientific Initiation scholarship during the graduation course.
