José L. Safanelli holds a bachelor's degree in Agronomy (2016) from UFSC Curitibanos, Brazil. He has earned the Doctor in Science degree in Soils and Plant Nutrition from ESALQ/USP, Brazil (2020). He did a research internship at the German Research Center for Geosciences (Remote Sensing section), Germany, between January and July of 2019. He worked as an assistant researcher at the Public Policy Research Group of ESALQ/USP, contributing to projects that supported government stakeholders in Brazil. He did a postdoc (2022-2024) and is currently a Research Scientist at Woodwell Climate Research Center working on soil and agricultural monitoring. His research interest is focused on the study of soils and agricultural systems at different spatial and temporal scales in order to contribute to food security and sustainable development . He has a solid background experience in pedometrics, remote sensing, soil spectroscopy, agricultural monitoring, and data science applied to the agricultural domain. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
