I have a degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Maringá, a master's, and a doctorate in Freshwater Biology and Inland Fishing from the National Institute of Amazonian Research. I am currently an associate professor in the Department of Marine Sciences at UNIFESP, Baixada Santista Campus. My expertise revolves around patterns, processes, and biogeography of freshwater fish and the impacts of hydroelectric projects in the Amazon. Presently, I am working with migratory aquatic and semi-aquatic species in both freshwater and marine environments. I am an accredited lecturer in the PPG-EvoDiv/UFABC and ICTMar/UNIFESP. My main current partnerships involve researchers from the University of California - Davis, INPA (Igarapés Project), and IRD (France, AmazonFish Project).
