Elisa Helena Farias Jandrey

Pharmacist, graduated from the Generalist Curriculum of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 2010 - 2015). I carried out Scientific Initiation at the Laboratory of Purinergic System and Cancer in the Department of Biochemistry of UFRGS (2011 - 2015). I developed my Direct Doctorate at the Institute of Teaching and Research Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in Health Sciences - Applied Research in Oncology (2016 - 2021). My main focus in the doctorate was the understanding of the proliferative and invasive behaviors of diffuse gliomas, focusing on the identification of cell signaling pathways that control these phenotypes. I carried out my first postdoctoral fellowship in the Laboratory of Translational Genomics - Department of Genetics of the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo (2021 - 2025). I have developed preclinical projects focusing on the use of advanced therapies (e.g., oncolytic viruses, CAR-T, RNA therapies) for the treatment of central nervous system tumors. Currently, I am an integral part of the research team at the Brain Tumor Center at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, where I develop and collaborate on translational and clinical projects to study the biology of brain tumors of adult patients.
