He holds a degree in Medicine from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School-USP (FMRP-USP), a residency in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology from the Hospital das Clínicas of FMRP-USP and a PhD in Clinical Medicine (Pneumology) from FMRP-USP. He did postdoctoral research at the Meakins-Christie Laboratory, McGill, Canada. He is an associate professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine at FMRP-USP and the coordinator of the Experimental Pulmonary Pathophysiology Laboratory. He coordinated a Young Researcher Program in Emerging Centers (FAPESP) and the Integrated Center for Health Emergencies at FMRP-USP. He is an associate researcher at the Center for Research in Inflammatory Diseases (NAP-DIN and CRID, CEPID-FAPESP), and his research line is Etiopathogenesis and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases and Medical Education, with an emphasis on assessment, evaluation, and faculty development. Since 2017, he has been a member of the Faculty Development Center for Teaching (CDDE) at FMRP-USP. He was the administrative coordinator of the Emergency Unit at HCFMRP-USP from 2017 to 2019, and since 2019, he is the director of Serrana State Hospital. He is currently at the University of Michigan doing postdoctoral research in Medical Education. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
