Estevão Mota Gomes Ribas Bosco

I am a social theorist. My work concerns the implications of cultural globalization and global environmental problems for the theory of social action and social change. It falls into critical theory, hermeneutics, and related interdisciplinary fields, namely intercultural communication studies, environmental sociology and politics, and post-colonial studies. I publish in Portuguese, English, and French.Currently, I am an assistant professor and director of social sciences at the American College of the Mediterranean, as well as the coordinator of the MA in Environment and Society at the Latin American Social Science Faculty (FLACSO, campus Brazil). I am also co-coordinator of the Research Group of the Colectivo de Estudios Latinoamericanos de Barcelona and a member of the University of São Paulos Research Group in Political Geography and the Environment, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiros Laboratory of Social Theory, and the University of Campinas Laboratory of Social Dimensions of Global Environmental Changes in the Global South. I have worked at universities in Brazil (University of São Paulo and State University of Campinas), the United Kingdom (University of Sussex), and Germany (Free University of Berlin).
