Biomedical scientist graduated from the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC, Brazil). Holds a Masters and Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo (ICB-USP), with research focused on a transcutaneous dengue vaccine (M.Sc.) and the development of diagnostic assays for dengue, Zika, and chikungunya viruses (Ph.D.). Completed a research internship (BEPE-FAPESP) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (USA) and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), where he contributed to the implementation of a biosafety level-3 (BSL-3) laboratory and viral surveillance studies. Currently, he is a FAPESP Young Investigator at the Institut Pasteur de São Paulo, leading a project on zoonotic viral surveillance in urban rodents through a One Health approach integrating environmental and molecular epidemiology.
