Dr. Faria became fascinated by biochemistry and cancer research since her studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Campinas, granted with best undergraduate student "Prêmio Paulo Minami" - CRF-SP. She did her Master's and Ph.D. in Biochemistry, at the same university, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine at the Erasmus University Medical Center in the Netherlands. Her Brazilian PhD thesis was selected to run the first round at CAPES Thesis Award 2021 at the Institute of Biology - University of Campinas. Dr. Faria has expertise in cancer cell metabolism and signaling transduction, platelet biology, solid tumor biology, pre-metastatic stages, and hallmarks of cancer, and she had worked as a researcher at the University of Helsinki and the University of Campinas. Nowadays, Dr. Faria is Assistant Professor at Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
