Birthplace: Brazil

The candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Biotechnology, as well as a degree in Biological Sciences with a bachelor degree and Bachelor of Education, both obtained from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), Brazil. During the undergraduate program, the candidate developed a strong academic foundation in microbiology, with a particular focus on its industrial applications. As part of an undergraduate research project, the candidate conducted scientific research in the field of industrial microbiology, aiming to develop technologies for the production of biomoleculessuch as ethanol, sugars, and enzymesthrough the bioconversion of agro-industrial and urban waste residues. In the Master's program in Applied Microbiology at UNESP, Campus of Rio Claro, the candidate advanced their scientific training by investigating the production and biodegradation of bioplastics, as well as assessing their ecotoxicological effects on soil and aquatic environments. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Microbiology at UNESP/Rio Claro, the candidate is engaged in cutting-edge research on the biodegradation of synthetic plastics, including polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and their blends, using thermophilic bacterial strains and thermostable enzymes obtained by heterologous expression. During the PhD the student did severals exchange at the University of Manitoba (Canada), NIOZ (Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research) in the Netherlands and (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
