Birthplace: Brazil

Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (2017) from the same institution. Participated in an international exchange program (Science Without Borders Undergraduate Sandwich Program) at the University at Albany State University of New York (20132014), where she gained experience in cell biology, specifically in the study of nucleic acid structure-function and proteinnucleic acid complexes involved in infectious diseases. This research was conducted at the RNA Institute (University at Albany). She has experience in microbial natural products chemistry, with a focus on untargeted metabolomics analyses. She also has extensive experience in culturing cancer cells and investigating the mechanism of action of phytoprogestins as potential therapies for ovarian cancer. She completed her first postdoctoral fellowship at the Burdette Lab, College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), focusing on natural products and cancer. Subsequently, she conducted her second postdoctoral research at the Lipid and Metabolism Laboratory of the Heart Institute (InCor-HCFMUSP), where she currently works as a researcher. Her current research focuses on lipoprotein metabolism and the use of lipid-based nanoparticles for drug delivery in the treatment of degenerative diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disorders.
