Adelcio M. de Souza is a postdoctoral researcher at the São Carlos School of Engineering at the University of São Paulo (EESC-USP), funded by FAPESP, working on the development of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for 6G networks. He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the National Institute of Telecommunications (Inatel) and a masters and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from EESC-USP. He participated in an exchange program at Texas Tech University (USA), focusing on electromagnetism and optics, and attended specialized courses in the Netherlands (PICs) and Mexico (lasers). He conducted research on advanced packaging techniques for microelectronics and photonics at the Eldorado Research Institute. He has published papers in high-impact journals and international conferences and is involved in teaching and scientific outreach activities. He was included in the Presidents Honor List at Texas Tech University in 2014 and 2015 and received the Academic Merit Diploma from Inatel (1st place Class 1/2016). His research interests include telecommunication systems, optical communications, nonlinear optics, semiconductor devices, advanced packaging, integrated photonics, and microwave photonics.
