Raphael Oliveira is a postdoctoral researcher at the Astronomical Observatory, University of Warsaw (Poland). He is currently studying gravitational microlensing events, binary stellar systems and the initial mass function of the Galactic bulge, in addition to have extensive experience in the characterization of stellar clusters through photometry and spectroscopy. He is particularly interested in developing computational methods for the statistical fitting of models to observational data. Raphael holds a master's and doctorate degrees in Astronomy from the Instituto de Astronomia, Geofísica e Ciências Atmosféricas (IAG) at the Universidade de São Paulo, supervised by Prof. Beatriz Barbuy. He holds a bachelor's degree in Physics, with an emphasis on Astrophysics, from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Effective associate of the Brazilian Astronomical Society (SAB) and member of the VISCACHA project (Magellanic Clouds with the SOAR telescope).
