She holds a degree in Pedagogy with a specialization in Special Education in the area of Hearing Impairment from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2008) and a Bachelor's degree in Libras Language and Literature from Uniasselvi. She completed further training and specialization in Deafness: Development and Inclusion at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Campinas (2009), a specialization in Libras at Faculdade Itaquá (2016), a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the Institute of Language Studies at the University of Campinas (2012), and a Ph.D. in Education from the Faculty of Education at the University of São Paulo (2016).She is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of ABC and a professor in the Graduate Program in Engineering and Innovation Management at UFABC. She is also the leader of the CNPq Research Group "Deaf and Libras SueLi." Her main research areas include bilingual education for the deaf, home sign language, Libras, development of educational materials for the deaf, translation, technologies for the deaf, literacy, and multilingualism.
