Ieda Francischetti is a physician who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Marília FAMEMA (1990), with a masters and doctorate in Medicine (General Bases of Surgery and Experimental Surgery) from the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP). She holds medical specializations in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin (20192020, FAPESP 2018/26011-2) in the field of medical education, focusing on the assessment of professional practice through Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs). She has participated in research projects at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University (Frankfurt) and Albert Ludwigs University (Freiburg), Germany, during the periods of 19921994, 19982000, and 20062008, addressing topics such as inflammation, neutrophil function, the use of extracorporeal circulation in cardiac surgery, pulmonary perfusion, ischemia-reperfusion, and organ transplantation. A faculty member at FAMEMA since 2001, she is dedicated to medical education, with an emphasis on active learning methodologies (Problem-Based Learning and Problematization) and competency-based curricula. She has extensive experience in academic management, having served as Undergraduate Program Director, Chief of Staff of the General Directorate (current position), and Director of the Division of Interinstitutional Relations (current position). She coordinated the Professional Practice Units for the 1st to 4th years, working on teaching-service integration, the use of active methods, and learning from practice. She also coordinated the Morphofunctional Laboratory, integrating it with the simulation and professional skills laboratories, and was responsible for FAMEMAs Faculty Development Program, emphasizing the Continuing Education model. She is a professor in the Professional Masters Program in Health Education, where she is part of the governing council, and teaches courses in Semiotics and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs). Her current research focuses on education and professional development in health, as well as competency-based training and professional practice assessment.
