Jane de Almeida is a professor at the Arts department at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and UNICAMP. She was visiting fellow at the History of Art and Architecture department at Harvard University and a professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of California at San Diego (https://courses.ucsd.edu/coursemain.aspx?section=621293 / UCSD) in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2018.Jane published the following books: Witty Findings (Educ / FAPESP), Ordering and Vertigo: Arthur Bispo do Rosario (ED. 2 vols., CCBB), Dziga Vertov Group (ED CCBB / MinC / witz) and Alexander Kluge: The fifth act (CosacNaify), among others.She curated the first festival in 4k in Brazil for the Electronic Language International Festival (FILE) in 2008 and organized the first broadcast film super high-definition (4k) from Latin America to the U.S. (UCSD) and Japan (Keio University ) over photonic networks at FILE 2009 (FILE Transcontinental).Currently coordinates the Working Group Advanced Applications of Remote Visualization/ Content for RNP - Rede NAcional de Ensino e Pesquisa. The GT (Working Group) produced in 2011 in the 4k3D film EstereoEnsaios which was exhibited at MAM (Museum of Modern Art), Digital Culture Festival at the Cine Odeon in Cinegrid of Rio de Janeiro and San Diego, USA. The film was also showed at the Festival of Films on 3D Art at SESC and as instalation in the exhibition Tecnofagias at Instituto Tomie Ohtake.Jane de Almeida holds a degree in Psychology from PUC / MG (1990), Masters in Communication and Semiotics at PUC / SP (CNPq 130927/1993-7 support, 1995), Ph.D. in Communication and Semiotics at PUC / SP (internship at Boston College / U.S. backed CAPES 1653-98-9, 2000). He did postdoctoral studies in Art History at Harvard University with CAPES (04/09/2232) support.She was curator of the exhibitions Ordering and Vertigo (Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil/2003) and the film festivals Metacinemas (2004), Dziga Vertov Group (2005) and Alexander Kluge: the fifth act (2007), among others.
