Ph.D. in Chemistry Education from the Inter-Unit Graduate Program in Science Education at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. Currently serves as an Instructor in Science Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Manitoba, Canada. Holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Paraíba, a Masters degree in Science from the Institute of Chemistry at São Carlos (USP), and a specialization in Methodologies for Teaching Natural Sciences from USPs Center for Scientific and Cultural Outreach. Completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education at the State University of Paraíba. He was a visiting researcher at the University of Sydney (Australia), where he participated in the Hunt-Simes Institute in Sexuality Studies, a program dedicated to collectively imagining queer-led classrooms. His research interests include science and chemistry education, with a focus on active learning methodologies, case-based teaching, graphic literacy, argumentation, scientific communication, and culturally responsive science teaching.
