Abstract

The aim of this research internship project abroad is to study the interactions of undergraduate chemistry students with inscriptions on slides used in oral presentations on interrupted case studies that address environmental issues with the collaboration of Dr. Lilian Pozzer (University of Manitoba). This investigation is related to the project "Graphicacy and Argumentation in Undergraduate Chemistry Teaching" (FAPESP: 2018/23809-3). Data will be obtained from carrying out educational activities aimed at promoting the ability of graphicacy associated with scientific argumentation. Data collection will take place in Brazil during the second half of 2020 by audiovisual recording of oral presentations. The analysis will be based on the Semiotic Model of Reading Inscriptions and on the classification of reading inscriptions. In addition, articles will be written regarding the research results in collaboration with Professor Pozzer.
