Abstract

In this post doctorate research internship project, we will study, together with Prof. Dr. Armin Weinberger (Saarland University), the perceptions of Pre-service teachers on argumentation and its integration into science teaching. This investigation is related to the project "Teaching Practice in Chemistry Course: Space for Preservice Teachers' Argumentative Knowledge Construction" (FAPESP: 2013/21525-4). For this, we will analyze the data collected from seven chemistry pre-service teachers in two different situations: 1) Collective discussions regarding chemistry lessons taught in high school by these pre-service teachers and 2) Semi-structured interviews of the pre-service teachers. The data was collected by audio-recording and video-recording, and for the analysis, we will use Content Analysis. Additionally, in collaboration with Professor Armin Weinberger, articles related to current research will be written and the postdoctoral student will participate in investigations concerning Argumentation-Based Computer Supported Collaborative Learning, expanding the knowledge of the science of teaching-learning process methodologies.
