Radell Echemendía Pérez

He has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Habana (Bachelor 2005-2010). PhD in Sciences (2015-2019) - Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos. During his doctorate, he carried out the diasteroselective synthesis of natural product hybrids via multicomponent reactions. Post-doctorate at the Federal University of São Carlos (2019-2020) supervised by Prof. Dr Arlene Gonçalves Correa, working with photoinduced alkylation reactions of N-heterocycles. He completed his post-doctorate at the University of Waterloo-Canada (2023-2024) in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Graham K. Murphy, working on arylation of sulfoxonium ylides with hypervalent iodine compounds. Postdoctoral fellow at the São Carlos Institute of Chemistry-USP in the Warner Bruce Kover laboratory (2020-2024) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Antonio Carlos Bender Burtoloso. He has experience in the area of Organic Synthesis, with an emphasis on multicomponent reactions, asymmetric synthesis, organocatalysis, photocatalysis, peptide synthesis, heterocycle chemistry, cross-coupling reactions, Continuous Flow reactions, sulfur ylides and hypervalent iodine compounds.
