N.V. Chemetov was born in the city of Angarsk, Russia. He has Bachelor's degree and postgraduate degree in Applied Mathematics at Novosibirsk State University - Russia (1978-1983). He holds a doctorate in Applied Mathematics from Novosibirsk State University (1989).He worked at the scientific institutes of the Academy of Science of Russia (1983-1989). In the years 1991-1992 he carried out a research internship at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. From 1992 to 2018 he was a lecturer at Portuguese universities.In the year 2018 defended the title of Livre - Docência at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, which is equivalent to the habilitation - aggregation titles. He is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Computation and Mathematics, University of São Paulo (Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, FFCLRP-USP).He has experience in Mathematics, with emphasis on Partial Differential Equations.
