This undergrad research project is an introduction to ergodic theory. The student must study the basic theorems of the theory, such as Poincare's recurrence theorem, give applications to Birkhoff's ergodic theorem, in addition to studying the ergodicity of some models of dynamic systems.
This project is an introduction to dynamical systems through fundamental examples. The main examples are the rotation in the circle, the Smales horseshoe and symbolic dynamics.
