PhD in Sciences (Pharmacology) from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of São Paulo, with research experience in natural product bioprospecting and the investigation of marine-derived bioactive compounds. Holds an interdisciplinary background integrating marine ecology, natural products chemistry, and molecular biology applied to the study of biodiversity and the biotechnological potential of associated organisms and microorganisms. Earned a Bachelors degree and teaching certification in Biological Sciences, with an emphasis on Marine Biology, from Santa Cecília University (Santos, Brazil), and an MSc in Pharmacology from the Federal University of Ceará. During this period, developed projects involving marine metabolite bioprospecting, cultivation of microorganisms associated with marine invertebrates, microbiology techniques, cell biology, and bioactivity assays. During her doctoral training, investigated target-directed modulation of pro-tumorigenic transcription factors by marine-derived molecules, gaining extensive laboratory experience in microbial cultivation, extraction and chemical characterization of natural metabolites, molecular biology techniques, experimental design, and data analysis. Part of her PhD research was conducted at the University of Cape Town (South Africa) during a supervised research internship at the Cancer Research Laboratory. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biomolecular Sciences at the Ribeirão Preto School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of São Paulo), where her work focuses on exploring the biotechnological potential of extremophilic bacteria, with emphasis on omics-based approaches, including metabolomics and microbial diversity analyses (metagenomics), to characterize biodiversity associated with cave substrates and marine organisms. She is also a member of the Brazilian Long-Term Ecological Research Program on Oceanic Islands (PELD-ILOC) and the ProspecMar Network (Sustainable Bioprospecting and Ecosystem Resources in Marine Environments), participating in field expeditions, marine biodiversity monitoring, and the integration of ecological, molecular, and chemical datasets.
