Pharmacist graduated from Universidade Paulista (2018), with a Masters degree in Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2021). Currently a PhD candidate at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of USP, with a research internship (sandwich program) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Her research focuses on genetic engineering of microalgae for the production of biomolecules of industrial interest. She has professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a strong background in biotechnology. She worked as a collaborative researcher at UFABC and is the inventor of three patents filed with the Brazilian Patent Office (INPI) two from her masters work and one from her PhD. In 2022, she received the Algae Biomass Organization award and, in 2024, led the restructuring and reactivation of the California Center for Algae Biotechnology (Cal-CAB).
