Birthplace: Brazil

Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy in the School of Mechanical Engineering at University of Campinas (UNICAMP). I was a post-doctoral research fellow at the university under supervision from Prof. William Roberto Wolf. I obtained my PhD at University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Engineering Mechanics program, advised by Prof. Jennifer A. Franck. My PhD focused on fluid mechanics, machine learning and renewable energy through oscillating-foil turbines. I graduated from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF/RJ) in the Mechanical Engineering program. I participated in the Science Without Borders program where were held regular courses in Mechanical Engineering at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and made a scientific research at Brown University where I performed numerical simulations around hydrofoils. This project was later continued during my PhD. I performed two scientific initiations at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF/RJ). One was advised by Professors Roney Leon Thompson and Luiz Eduardo Bittencourt Sampaio and the another by Professor Maria da Penha Cindra Fonseca. The first was based on numerical simulations of external flows around various geometries under laminar and turbulent flows, and the second was in Mechanical Manufacturing. I also have a technical course in Mechanics at the Federal Center of Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca (CEFET/RJ). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
