Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR). Centro de Ciências Exatas e de Tecnologia (CCET)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

With 10 years of research experience in several laboratories around the world, Izadora holds a Master's Degree in Inorganic Chemistry (3/2018-12/2018) and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (2012-2017) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, as well as a Technical Chemistry from the Federal Center for Technological Education of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG, 2009-2011).At UFMG, she worked with Prof.a. dr. Flávia C. C. Moura in the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured metallic oxides (iron oxides, silica and modified aluminosilicates) for application in the treatment of aqueous waste. (2012-2013).In February 2013, Izadora performed a 1-month research internship at the Universidad Nacional de San Luis (Argentina), working on the synthesis of ordered mesoporous materials (MCM-41 and SBA-15) under the supervision of Prof. doctor Karim Sapag. In 2014, she was accepted by the University of Liverpool (UoL, England) to study Bsc. Chemistry by the Science without Borders (CsF) program. She worked during the period together with Prof. doctor Jose A. Lopez-Sanchez on the synthesis of modified SBA-15 for catalysis in biomass conversion reactions. In 2016, she completed a mandatory curricular internship in Chemistry at the government agency Fundação Ezequiel Dias (FUNED MG), working in the Metallic Contaminants laboratory for quality control of metal concentrations in water and food.In November 2016, Izadora was invited by the American Chemical Society (ACS) to a leadership training course in Panama, being named ambassador of the BOOST Workshop program (Building Opportunities Out of Science and Technology) in Minas Gerais. In 2017, she organized and presented workshops and lectures at educational institutions in Minas Gerais on the theme "Career Planning" as a representative of the ACS. Under the guidance of Prof. doctor Rochel Montero Lago, she also worked on a project to develop a green cutting fluid in collaboration with the automotive industry, and completed her Chemistry course with the study of the effect of sodium on the thermal deoxygenation of sucrose. In 2018, still under the guidance of Prof. doctor Rochel Montero Lago completed his master's degree in Inorganic Chemistry at UFMG (CAPES 7) in two semesters with the project "Intelligent Combined Treatment of Industrial Effluents", carried out in partnership with the industry. From 2019 to 2022, Izadora worked as an assistant researcher at Shinshu University (Nagano, Japan) under the guidance of Prof. doctor Katsumi Kaneko, studying the adsorption of gases on graphene oxide, for detailed characterization of its porosity, surface area and surface characteristics. She also gained experience in other carbon materials. In mid-2022, the researcher joined the working group of the Action Plan for a Sustainable and Sovereign Brazil, an initiative of the Brazilian Society of Chemistry (SBQ) and led by professors Dr. Rochel Lago and Dr. Ana Paula Teixeira from UFMG. She served as project manager until June 2023. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
