Abstract
Paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM) is a systemic fungal infection caused by the fungus Paracoccidiodes brasiliensis. It is an endemic disease in the Americas, with a higher incidence in Brazil. The lungs are affected in almost all adult patients, in addition to the oral, pharyngeal and laryngeal mucosal tissues.
